Single-Character Names

ICANN has added an open Working Session on Single-Character Second-Level Domain Names to the schedule for Wednesday 5 November 2008, from 1700-1800 Cairo Time. The working session will be in Al Saraya 2-4.

Several gTLD registries have submitted requests to ICANN on the allocation of single-character second-level domain names in their respective gTLDs, including DotCoop, dotMobi and NeuStar, Inc. (.BIZ). More information on these requests can be found at http://www.icann.org/en/registries/rsep/. In addition, in June 2008, ICANN solicited public comment on a Single-Character Second-Level Domain Name Allocation Framework document (see announcement at http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/a ... n08-en.htm).
